Meadow Road

Local Residents in Meadow Road and New House Lane contacted both Leslie Christie and I with concerns about access to St George’s CE School. A public meeting was held on Tuesday 25th March to discuss concerns.

Grahame Ward who is in charge of Building Schools for the Future (BSF) at Kent County Council attended to answer questions from the public.

Concerns were mainly around the operation of the school. This included ‘the school run’ deliveries and construction traffic when the works commence on St George’s School refurbishment in 2010.

The public were assured by Graham Ward that the plans would be made available before they were finalised and both Leslie Christie and I would ensure that a further meeting would be held to update local residents. In the meantime Leslie Christie and I would contact Kent Highways and ask that a traffic count be carried out on Meadow Road to establish the volume of traffic using the road.
