Northfleet Community Forum

In 2005 I was approached by Anne Jenkins of the Ebbsfleet Rainbow Centre about community engagement. We discussed the plethora of organisations working for the betterment of the residents in Northfleet West and how we could work together to share ideas and ensure that our efforts were maximised. From that early meeting, the Northfleet Community Forum was born and has since then gone from strength to strength.

Northfleet West is part of the Gravesham Borough Council electoral ward of Northfleet North, Northfleet West is seen as an area of social deprivation, and is recognised as such by Gravesham BC, Kent County Council and various Government Departments. Northfleet West is an area with many opportunities, not least from the major regeneration connected with CTRL and the Northfleet Embankment proposals which will see new homes, opportunities for new jobs and millions invested in community infrastructure.

The Government has provided through ‘Surestart’ the finance to build a Children’s Centre which is due to come on stream in early 2008. Many of our partner organisations work with young families and children, we are proud to have led the call for a Children’s Centre for the area.

Listed below are some of our Partner Organisations who make up the Northfleet Forum.
