I believe there is beauty and art all around us, all of the time, and any topic can produce some exciting and new challenge for an artist if you look long and hard enough. My inspiration comes from a variety of landscapes, people and situations. I enjoy painting in oils, acrylics, pastels, silk, glass paints, watercolour, gouache, and mixed media. Each having their own special quality, I feel it is wonderful to have such a selection of materials to chose from. In a variety of mixed media, I attempt to make my work energetic, lively and exhibit my love of colour. I belong to a local 200-seater theatre. Belonging to Erith Theatre means I have access to very large canvasses in the shape of scenery, and observing many different characters and situations as they are acted out on the stage. I find the theatre truly inspiring with each show being such an exciting venture; I try to encapsulate that air of theatricality in my paintings. I enjoy experimenting with new techniques, developing a style, which is continuing to evolve: experimental and progressive, with no boundaries; contemporary work somewhere between abstract and representational. |

| My Poem It’ll get better he said But it’s like being underwater And this noise in my head... It’ll get better he said So when I saw the man He said Mmmmmmmmmm I’ll send you to see another So the man threw me around the room Mmmmmmmmmm he said Not a brain tumour That’s good I thought But it’s urgent to stop losing it Drugs But I’m busy I said No not recreational He said To stop you losing it completely Your hearing that is So I take the drugs But I’m getting smaller by the day In a dark box Padded Silently Screaming Christine Angell | |||||||||||||||||
